“As with their wonderful Symphonic String Collection library, the new Sonic Implants Symphonic Brass Collection is the definitive collection of brass instruments and articulations created to date. There is no other library, recent or otherwise, that provides the variety of articulations and level of playability and realism provided by this collection. As a composer electronically creating orchestra mock-ups, it is important to recreate the orchestra and it's dynamic range with detail. The Symphonic Brass Collection provides the detail and nuance to convincingly emulate the sound of a real brass section, whether it be a solo instrument, a chamber ensemble or a full size Hollywood style orchestral brass section. The number of instrument articulations provided for each section is unparalleled, as well as the extensive programming done to control the various articulations. All in all, there has not been a more comprehensive library to date and I am sure that as with the Symphonic String Collection, the Symphonic Brass Collection will stand the test of time and the release of other competing products.”

“THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Your Sordino Ensembles are fantastic.... wow.
I will use them on my next projects:
Yakaty Yak.......Cartoon Series - Nickelodeon
Splinter Cell.......Tom Clancy Video Game
The Two Towers......Making of Lord of the Rings Part II
Wish I had them when I did last year's Fellowship of the Rings special for Fox
Again Many Thanks,”

“What can I say? This is simply the finest sample library on the market. The samples are amazingly accurate, warm, responsive and, most importantly, extremely viable in real applications. Whether you're using the library exclusively or layering them in with live musicians, the Complete Symphonic Collection works seamlessly in integrating and creating a truly rich orchestral score. It is a great tool and a fantastic value for anyone who is serious about finding the right templates for television and film composition.”
Rob Arbittier. Credits Include: Composer of hundreds of TV commercials, movie trailers, and 'behind-the-scenes' specials for DVDs. Production and keyboard credits also include albums by Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and many other artists.
“The Sonic Implants Symphonic String Collection library is beautifully recorded and very complete. But even with it's size, I find it's organization makes it fast and easy to use. When orchestrating, I can often start with one of the large, expressive, multi-section string patches, then just add a few extra patches with different articulations as needed. If I have time to do a more precise job, the library offers a huge variety of sections and styles. I wish I had brass and woodwinds that sounded this good.”
Craig Sharmat. Credits Include: America's Most Wanted - Fox, Kids Incorporated - Disney, Champions on Ice - NBC.
“In the short time I have had SISB, it has become a integral part of my composing setup. The break down of sections is most convenient and the articulations are comprehensive. This affords me versatility in writing for correct section sizes. I have found the Symphonic Brass Collection to be sonically excellent across the board. The staccatos play very comfortable under my fingers moving nicely between velocity layers. Mixing the Orchestral Brass with your Symphonic String Collection is almost effortless. Again, very nicely done.”
Shawn Patterson
“I place a great deal of importance on making my orchestral scores sound
as life like and real as possible. In pursuit of this, I have bought
every major orchestral brass library out there. I just got the Sonic Implants
Brass Collection and honestly, it is miles in front of everything else I
have heard and owned.
Within the Sonic Implants Brass Collection, there are a wide variety of
beautiful articulations which are musical, clear and intelligently
labeled - you don't need a manual to pick which articulation you need.
Since getting this library, whenever I build an orchestral template-
Sonic Implants are there. I am using their brass and strings on every single
orchestral score I compose.
I can not think of a more powerful tool to add to a composers arsenal to
breathe believability and life into their music than adding Sonic
Implant Orchestral Collections.
Any composer who is not using this library is simply not getting the
best.”

Complete Symphonic Collection Now Updated for Kontakt 3.5 and 4!
The culmination of the efforts of nearly one hundred recording engineers, sound designers, programmers, and professional musicians, The SONiVOX Complete Orchestral Collection is the ultimate in beauty, elegance, and power. ... the first choice for composers, producers, and players alike.
The SONiVOX Complete Symphonic Collection is comprised of four volumes, Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion. Recorded exclusively within the exquisite Victorian confines of the renowned Sonic Temple in Roslindale, MA, the SONiVOX Symphonic Collection offers exceptional recordings of orchestral instruments performed by musicians from the Boston Pops and Ballet orchestras, captured in sparkling detail by a team of award-winning recording engineers and honed to perfection by a design crew with more than thirty years cumulative experience in soundware development. Offering a singular acoustic aesthetic that is spacious yet revealingly intimate in its ability to impart clarity, depth, and definition to the broad spectrum of orchestral instruments, the SONiVOX Symphonic Collection also offers users an orchestral solution with prodigious flexibility, intuitive programming, and an authentic virtual soundstage that allows for the correct respective placement of instruments and sections without the need for additional processing or panning.
Of course, talk of technical specifics shouldn't serve to obscure what are, ultimately, the defining characteristics of any sample collection; fidelity and feel. Creating music is such an elusive pursuit, that musicians can't afford to waste time and energy with sounds that don't deliver the goods. From the beginning, SONiVOX' goal has been to create a collection of symphonic instruments whose expressiveness and playability would do more than just serve the composer's creative muse, but inspire it. With the completion of the SONiVOX Symphonic Series, SONiVOX is proud to offer an orchestral solution that accomplishes all these goals and much more.
STRINGS OVERVIEW
Recording Notes
Recorded by Emmy award-winning engineer Antonio Oliart and RIAA award-winning engineer John Bono in Sonic Temple Studio's renowned acoustic space in Roslindale, MA.
The Musicians
Incomparable musicianship and world-class instruments from members of the Boston Pops and Boston Ballet Orchestras. Sections include 1st Violins, 2nd Violins, Violas, Cellos & Basses. Grouped Ensemble instruments also included.
Sound Design Team
All programming was done exclusively in-house at SONiVOX studios. SONiVOX' team of five sound designers worked in close consort throughout all aspects of production to ensure a consistent sound throughout the entire project. Very limited processing was utilized in preserving the natural recorded sound.
Technical Specifications
24bit-48k recordings. B&K 4011 front microphones with Schoeps CMC-6Ug and Neumann U87 spot microphones were utilized to capture a rich balance of spatial and instrument detail. Recorded with Benchmark preamps and Troisi A/D converters direct to Tascam DA98HR digital multi-track.
Aesthetics
In keeping with our basic design philosophy, we created an assemblage of instruments within each section and articulation that is comprehensive yet practical; providing the user with an abundance of options while avoiding unnecessary duplication and superfluous programming. You'll also find that we kept the instrument list identical between sections to ensure a uniform consistency that will reduce the time you spend managing this collection and greatly increase the time you spend enjoying it.
The Sound
Much care was taken in the recording process to deliver a refined sound both spatially and harmonically. Because of this, no additional EQ or panning enhancements should be necessary, of course the option is there. Reverb can be added as lightly or heavily as desired, or none at all.
Ensemble Instruments
In addition to the individual sections, we've also included writing patches that smoothly combine & crossfade all 5 string sections. Having all sections available on one keyboard is a convenient way to jot down musical ideas and do quick production work. A symphonic sketchpad for your musical ideas.
The Final Product
Our goal, from the first days of pre-production to the last hours of careful polishing was to create a collection that would enable musicians and composers to evoke the true essence of an ensemble string orchestra, in all its complex shading and color, with unsurpassed clarity and ease. The opportunity to harness this vast potential now rests at your fingertips.

BRASS OVERVIEW
Recorded in the same hall, using the same award-winning engineers, and featuring Boston Pops musicians, this collection packs a truly unique set of features including the largest set of brass articulations available, multiple section sizes (1st chair, 2nd & 3rd chair, 1st - 3rd chair, and 1st - 6th chair), up to 4 alternate takes on staccato, ta, ka, and sfz articulations, plus release samples and looped sustains. Extra realism, a perfect blend with the string collection, and Sonic's well deserved reputation for superb playability and quality, make this the brass collection of choice.
Recording Notes
Produced by veteran sound-designer Jennifer Hruska, and recorded by Emmy and RIAA award-winning engineers Antonio Oliart and John Bono at Sonic Temple Studios, the same hall used to record the Symphonic String Collection. To ensure a perfect balance with the string collection the players were placed in the hall in the correct orchestral spatial positions with the same B&K 4011 front microphones placed in the same front-of-hall position. We even took measures to simulate the absorption qualities of the string and woodwind players! Even though we had top-notch players, we ran short recording days (no more than 3 or 4 hours per section) with alternating chairs playing to preserve the players lips, resulting in a beautiful tone for all recordings.
The Musicians
Boston has no shortage of world-class players and we were lucky enough to welcome them to this project. Members of the Boston Pops and Boston Ballet Orchestras shared their incomparable musicianship and beautiful instruments. Recordings include Solo French Horn, 2 French Horn Ensemble, 4 French Horn Ensemble, Solo Trumpet, 2 Trumpet Ensemble, 3 Trumpet Ensemble, Solo Baritone Trombone, 2 Tenor Trombone Ensemble, Baritone & 2 Tenor Trombone Ensemble, and solo Tuba.
Section Sizes
Unique to the SONiVOX Symphonic Brass Collection is the versatility of the brass choir section sizes. Composers can now control their section sizes according to what's required for their musical parts. For example writing different parts for 1 st chair trumpet and 2 nd & 3 rd chair trumpets, 1 st part French horns and 2 nd part French horns, baritone trombone and tenor trombones, etc. Recorded and programmed ensembles are included for fast composing or a large section sound.
Microphones include two B&K 4011 front-of-hall mics, two Cole 4038 ribbon spot mics on the trumpets, two Lawson L47MP Mark II tube spot mics on the French horns, two Shure KSM32 spot mics on the Trombones, and a Neuman TLM170 spot mic on the Tuba. Like the strings, this allowed us to capture a rich balance of spatial and instrument detail. Benchmark preamps and Troisi Octal A/D converters recording direct to Pro-Tools completed the chain.
Sampler Programming
In keeping with our basic design philosophy, we created an assemblage of instruments within each section and articulation that is comprehensive yet practical; providing the user with an abundance of options while avoiding unnecessary duplication and superfluous programming. You'll also find that we kept the instrument list identical between sections to ensure a uniform consistency that will reduce the time you spend managing this collection and greatly increase the time you spend enjoying it.
The Final Product
Our goal, from the first days of pre-production to the last hours of careful polishing was to create a collection that would enable musicians and composers to evoke the true essence of an orchestral brass section, in all its complex shading and color, with unsurpassed clarity and ease. The opportunity to harness this vast potential now rests at your fingertips. Enjoy.

BRASS ARTICULATIONS
Mixing Versatility
Each section was recorded in its traditional position within the orchestra for a full stereo sound. User defined panning possible without stereo phase degradation.
Dynamics and Phrasing
Up to 4 dynamic levels were recorded for each articulation. Short articulations include up to 4 different alternate takes on the same note for added realism in fast or repeating passages.
Release Samples
Release samples are included to preserve the natural instrument resonance and subtle ambient decay of the hall. The release samples simply trigger when you lift the keys so the effect is simply there when you play. The difference? Now you're playing instruments, not samples.
Legato
Sustained tones for legato playing at all dynamic levels. 4 velocity levels, release samples, all sections.
Marcato Legato
Sustained tones with an initial punch of dynamic intensity that tapers off to a smoother sound. 2 velocity levels for trumpets, trombones and horns, 1 velocity level for tuba, release samples, all sections.
Melodic Legato
A more melodic legato with a touch of vibrato, intended for solo melodic passages, 4 velocity levels, release samples, solo trumpet and solo French horn.

Strong and loud sustained legato tones for the French horns, in which players raise the instrument so that the bell is up in the air facing the audience instead of against the body facing away from the audience. 1 velocity level, release samples.
Stop Muted Legato
Sustained tones for the French horns, using a stop mute in the bell to provide the classic stopped horn timbre. 2 velocity levels, release samples.
Staccato
Short staccato tones for accented passages, 4 velocity levels, 3 takes per note for trumpets, trombones, and horns, 2 takes for tuba and solo horn, all sections.

Short staccato tones with a straight mute in the bell, 3 velocity levels, 3 takes per note, all sections except tuba.
Double Tongue "Ta" and "Ka"
Short fast tones in which the player plays a rapidly repeated series of notes by placing the tongue alternately between the positions for "t" and "k". Recorded in a phrase for realism, the "Ta's" and "Ka's" have been separated to allow the composer complete control. 3 velocity levels, 3 takes per note, all sections except tuba.
Half Step Trills
Sustained half step trills. 3 velocity levels, release samples, trumpets.
Whole Step Trills
Sustained whole step trills. 3 velocity levels, release samples, trumpets.
Flutter Tongue
A sustained articulation in which the player places his tongue against the roof of his mouth, just above and behind the top teeth. When blowing, the airflow causes the tongue to separate from the roof of the mouth and the muscles cause the tongue to be restored to the roof. The resulting sound has an ethereal and "fluttering" quality. 2 velocities, release samples, all sections except tuba.
Muted Flutter Tongue
Sustained Flutter Tongue with a straight mute in the bell. 2 velocity levels, release samples, trumpets.
