We’ve gone all the way and recorded most of the commonly used Middle Eastern melodic styles (maqams). It is available in all parallel western contemporary root keys. These can easily be triggered and displayed in the Kontakt user’s interface. For easy and quick scoring Desert Voice provides patches with Arabian styled melodies which are harmonically mirrored to western minor scales.

Performed by mr. Hammam Al Sayid who’s schooled in the classical Arabian art music. With full dedication to this project he put out the best musical performance we’ve experienced yet. From the deepest low to the highest intense emotion Hammam took us by surprise and open our ears and imagination to the mystic and fantastic world within the Arabian music.

KONTANKT INTERFACE FEATURES

Main view: Main view: keyswitches, harmonic root and BPM buttons, breathing samples

Red zones: Keyswitches. All patches start at A0 when loaded. So the root harmony when loaded is tuned in western well tempered root key “A”.

Green zones: Breathing sfx samples

Yellow zones: BPM (tempo) switchers. Correspond with the buttons on the interface

Blue zones: Vocal samples

White zones: Empty zones

Patches with TS: Mod wheel modulation. Speeds up and slows down phrases to a maximum of 40% of the original recorded tempo. Note: All recordings have been traditionally recorded without click track. These songs are unaccompanied ancient monophonic vocal ‘songs’.

With this tab models the full sample set ADSR. So all groups are affected by changing these setting. To keep the your custom setting please resave the patch. Next time when loaded it load the custom settings. (Consider renaming to have a backup when needed)

Scale Indicator Tab: linked to the style key zones. Presented with individual note intervals.

Note: Middle Eastern music theory and character is very different from western music due to its many microtones used in these makams. But as a general reference we found that a lot of our minor and major keys go well with these samples. We specifically applied western tuning while recording these samples. For instance, the root key goes well with major as the 4th and 5th go well in minor. But all these harmonic references are interchangeable and can be combined to create thousands of original combinations. The full potential of this sample library is yet to be unleashed. Chants are wordless melody lines, Songs contain words.

Western Minor Improvisations: with these special patches we’ve tried to blend the Arabian melody to the western harmonics. For quick scoring and creative artistic features to your music. Not all keys are available due to the vocal pitch limitation.

Song and chant patches programmed key switches linked to the harmony root. With corresponding interface views. Root harmony and scales are presented for each key zone.

As for the text and poems correspond to the title of the spoken text.

PLEASE NOTE:
Due to the large sizes of Sonokinetic's sample packages, Sonokinetic have split them up in multiple files: _part1, _part2, _part3, etc. using the .rar extension. You should use the software provided above to unpack the files. Smaller packages (containing only 1 file), are zipped. For this you can use your OS (XP, OSX etc.) to extract the samples from the zip-file.

When extracting Sonokinetic sample packages only open the “.part1″ files with your extraction software. All other files will extract automatically!

Do I need the full version of Kontakt to use Sonokinetic products?:
Yes. All Sonokinetic products require the full version of Kontakt 2 or higher. "Desert Voice" requires Kontakt 4.1 or higher.

Do Sonokinetic products support with other formats?:
With the exception of the RMX format. Each product is created for its specific labeled formats. For this information please check the provided format descriptions on the product page. We in no way guarantee 100% compatibility when using any form of translation software. All sales are final and neither Alexander Publishing nor Sonokinetic shall not be held responsible for importing said samples into a non-native sampler.
