Recorded in EastWest Studio 1, widely regarded as the "best brass recording room in the entire world" with 5 true mic positions, Hollywood Brass is designed to work seamlessly with Hollywood Strings (and the upcoming Woodwinds and Percussion). Running on the next generation and completely revamped engine, PLAY 3, Hollywood Brass will run flawlessly on your system along with Hollywood Strings. This is also exciting news for current Hollywood Strings users, as PLAY 3 and the new Hollywood Strings program update are free to all users.

Hollywood Brass ships on a hard drive and is approximately 150 gigabytes of pure Hollywood magic. A world class group of brass artists, worthy of a Shawn Murphy recording, was gathered for this brass sampling marathon which lasted for 21 straight 11 hour days followed by a year of post production.

Hollywood Brass gives you complete control over the players and includes:
Solo Trumpet, 2 Trumpets, 3 Trumpets, Solo French Horn, 2 French Horns, 6 French Horns, Solo Trombone, 2 Tenor + 1 Bass Trombone, Solo Tuba, Solo Cimbasso and a low brass section consisting of : 2 Tenor Bones, 1 Bass trombone, 1 tuba and 1 cimbasso.

Whether Mac or PC you need either an i7 Quad Core or an 8-Core system.

For the Mac, there is an iMac i7 model capable of handling up to 16GB of RAM. The Mac Pro can handle up to 32GB of RAM.

On a PC, the motherboard determines the amount of RAM you can handle.

We suggest you consider a system with a motherboard allowing for up to 24GB of RAM.

The Hollywood Brass library can be spread across multiple 7200RPM drives. EastWest tech support can explain to you how to do this.

IMPORTANT: *The hard drive on which Hollywood Brass ships is a bare (internal) drive. The hard drive is covered by our "Limited Replacement 30 Day Return Policy". If the hard drive develops a defect, it may be returned to Soundsonline within 30 days of shipment. Hollywood Brass may only be returned for a replacement of the hard drive. No refunds are available. "Return" constitutes receipt of the product by Soundsonline, and not the mere issuance of an RMA. Beyond 30 days, the manufacturer's warranty will apply and returns and service must be arranged with the drive manufacturer. EastWest/Soundsonline will replace the data should a drive replacement become necessary.

What happens if I lose my data or the hard drive crashes?
Hollywood Brass comes on a high performance Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - Bare Drive (subject to change without notice). The Western Digital Caviar Blue hard drive is suitable for using the content, however, as hard drives can fail, we recommend you make a backup of the data on another hard drive (it does not have to be as high performance as the supplied hard drive, it's simply for back up). In the event a replacement drive becomes necessary, however, we will replace the data at any time.
